The Birthday Collective
The Birthday Collective aims to be a “Brain, Heart and Hand Trust” for Singapore as it deals with an increasingly unpredictable and complex external environment, and increasingly acute domestic constraints.

I was one of the contributors for the 2020 Birthday Book, with my "worksheet" on seeing clearly. I am currently one of the Birthday Fellowship 2021-2022 members, with my project "What Lets You Rest Here?" supported by mentorship and funding from this group of volunteers.
I'm constantly drafting and re-drafting text messages because it feels every online "conversation" feels like a delicate balancing act of words. Perhaps more conversations should be like this? Weighing the words for how much space the recipient can give at the moment - and being okay with reassembling the same conversation in different ways when one way of doing it fails.
I feel helpless on most days - and I need to remind myself that staying at home is helping the world. We're supposed to be in this boat together, but some days it feels like we're kind of just floating further and further apart. Some days I feel guilty because I'm quite snug at home and fear going out again. Some days I'm like, meh - whatever.
